R.I.P. Art Linkletter

Sad to read the obituary in the New York Times about the passing of Gordon Arthur Kelly, otherwise known as TV legend Art Linkletter at the age of 97.

Like his contemporary Ed Sullivan, nobody could figure out why Art was so popular. To look at him critically, it defied logic that he was so famous for so long. And yet... even today people remember his many television appearances.

A Canuck born a decade into the 20th Century, Linkletter leaves his wife and two of his children behind.  Those of us of the TV generation will have many fond memories of this pioneer of broadcasting.
