How cool is that?
Most people ask me, “Why go there so often? Are you a lover of mountains of snow?”
Little do they know, Iceland is cold but temperate (although I did get to experience a little snow and some black ice on my third visit).
The moderate climate is the result of winds circulating from the Caribbean. For a visual, check out the cool animation in Al Gore’s movie for details.
Iceland has great food, an interesting beer that reminds me of Fletcher’s Castoria* (and, as W.C. Fields might say, is good for what ails you... yes, yes...) and great shopping. And, of course, the Blue Lagoon.
