The Forgotten Television Network

The Du Mont television network crashed and burned, leaving CBS, NBC and ABC until Fox and UPN (now CW) came along. And then cable came and there are hundreds of channels of nothing worth watching. H’yuk!

But this show embedded below... broadcast in 1949... is an example of the type of programming that... erm... my grandparents watched. Surprisingly, it is more entertaining than most of the crap on the air today.

Check out this episode of School House a short-lived series on the DuMont Television Network which aired in early 1949 featuring Kenny Delmar as the teacher with Arnold Stang and Wally Cox as two of the students.
