A Maverickey Night of Dancing

I rarely watch reality shows.

Got enough of them from Chuck Barris and Jon Davidson during my misspent childhood in front of the telly.

Still... I keep my ear to the proverbial rails and was interested to hear that daughter of tea party maven Sarah Palin has been on dancing with the stars.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bristol Palin’s performance was highlighted by commentary from her mom.

Surprisingly... to everyone’s chagrin... there was some booing from the peanut gallery.

Check it out in the video widget below:

Now, we are not sure who was being booed.  It could have been a reaction to the last dancers’ scores.  Anyway... since I didn’t see Bristol’s performance, I have no idea what song she danced to. If she had danced to The Bristol Stomp, that would have been pure serendipity, don’t you think?

And in case you are unfamiliar with Bristol Stomp, a hit song from a half-century or so ago... check it out in the video widget below:

Dexter Season Premiere

The buzz is all over the internet now, with people tuned in to see the highly rated fifth season premiere of Showtime’s Dexter.  A LOT of people were watching on Sunday night.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the ratings were through the roof.  And, given the traffic on the Dexter IMDB discussion page, the buzz about this highly anticipated season opener is at an all-time high.

The lovely folks at Sumner Redstone’s Showtime network were nice enough to add an edited version of the season premiere to YouTube.

If you don’t have a Showtime subscription... check it out in the video widget below:

And we will close this blog with one additional reminder to check out our Dexter inspired designs at the Dwacon® store!

News from Mobile Insiders

Just about everybody this day and age owns a mobile phone. In places like Asia and Scandinavia, where in-home internet access was slower to become available than it did in the United States, the mobile device was the lifeline to what was happening locally and internationally.

Well the same is true today… with more people using their mobile device for talk, chat, text, and entertainment. Check your friends’ Facebook posts and see just how many were sent from mobile devices.

But while most of us own mobile devices, how many of us know much about the mobile industry? Do we buy those critical devices based upon slick advertisements or word of mouth… or do we wisely invest our dollars by obtaining the latest mobile marketing news ?

That is why we wanted to take a moment to endorse our sponsor, www.insidermobile.com -- which you will find a great resource for staying on top of the fast-moving mobile industry.

The Bloody Rose... which Dexter should have put on Rita’s grave...

We call this design: “Dexter Jr. All Grown Up...”

The Blood Orange... what Dexter has had for breakfast every morning in the opening credits of the show...

Another peek at the Bloody Mary (not Rita) design...

And, last but not least... the Ice Truck Killer Bloody Mary design...

Each design is available on thirty-three (33) gift and apparel items!

All available at The Dwacon® Store’s Dexter Inspired Shop.

Dexter Season Five

Nerds around the world were on the edges of their chairs as the trailer for the fifth season of this Showtime original series debuted on the internet.

Michael C. Hall (apparently healed from his illness) is back and better than ever -- and the drama seems to be ramped up to a high level.

Some Julie Benz fans will be sad... but she will be starring with Michael Chiklis in a new superhero fantasy drama on ABC.

Meanwhile... let’s take a look at the sneak preview for Dexter’s fifth season in the video widget below:

I am sure my former colleagues at the White House, who were all big-time Dexter fans, will be watching. I will miss discussing the show with them over fancy luncheons at The Oval Room and La Taberna del Alabardero.

Keine Brüste auf der Sesamstraße

I don’t recall anything like this when I was a young child watching Sesame Street in the United States...

Or, for that matter... when I watched it as a teenager in Germany.

Katy Perry was hoping to frolic with Elmo on Sesame Street... doing a parody of one of her popular music videos.

Unfortunately, Katy’s seemingly innocent performance was yanked from the show after parents complained that her attire was... erm... too revealing.

Poor Katy!  Maybe she should have borrowed Lady Gaga’s meat dress.

Check out what would have been her Sesame Street premiere in the video widget below:

Everyone Makes Mistakes in the Past... Right?

Bill Maher was so kind on the first episode of his new season on HBO to remind everyone that before she became a leading figure in the Tea Party, Christine O’Donnell had a past.

Part of what she did in this past... well, it presumably included some satan worship on a bloody altar?  Well... let’s hear how Christine explains it in this video clip:

Now that might not be completely fair.  After all... this was back in the 1990’s -- like a decade ago. We can’t judge Christine for what she did in the past.

For that matter, it is wrong to judge anyone for what they did in the past.

Right?

Stay Away From Those GOTCHA Journalists...

Tea Party candidate Christine O’Donnell had difficulty answering questions about her finances... among other questions. Sarah Palin has the answer.

As reported on Delaware Online, the simple answer is to speak through Fox News and not answer those other news outlets.

You can follow Anderson Cooper 360’s coverage of O’Donnell and her adventures.

But she does have one thing going for her. At least she ain’t no Muslim. And as we remove our tongue from our cheek, let’s close with a video clip below:
